Non fiction responce

In the article "Should cigarettes be made illegal?" It explains all the risks people are going through smoking cigarettes, and all the harmful ingredients that are hurting people. It explains that nicotine triggers a response in the brain so that people want more of it. But mostly, cigarettes are terrible for you, and they should be made illegal.

With over a hundred ingredients, most or all harmful, people are being severely hurt with smoking. The problem is that people start young thinking it's cool and that they are a rebel who doesn't care, and after they've started it's very hard to stop because of all the addictive ingredients and ingredients that make you happy through neurological responses in the brain. I think it is unfair that people are helpless to this addictive drug, and it can even be compared to heroin where you can see the same addictive qualities.

The other reason cigarettes should be banned is because of the effect on your body. So once your addicted, what's so bad about it? Well on an average case someone will take 6 years off their life by smoking, and that's if they don't have a stroke or heart attack first. Also while you are smoking it is twice as likely that you have a heart attack then when you aren't smoking. Smoking can also lead to lung cancer, oral cancer, gum disease, infections in the lungs, and much more. But possibly one of the most haunting is shown in a government ad about smoking. Smoking can actually make you lose part of your voice box causing you to get a stomata, or an artificial voice box that you speak out of.

After reading all the terrible things smoking can do to you, I confirmed that I knew how terrible it was, and it made me never want to smoke anymore. Selling products like this that can kill you in so many different ways, and are intending to be used in a way that kills you should definitely be illegal because some of this stuff is as bad as, or worse then some of the illegal drugs. So I believe we need to save people's lives, and make cigarettes illegal.
